TORONTO- Toronto FC host Montreal on Tuesday night for the second leg of the Amway Canadian Championship after the 1-1 tie in Montreal last Wednesday.
Jozy Altidore’s goal last week gave Toronto an away goal which means the MLS league leaders hold a slight advantage going into the second leg.
Last year’s epic playoff game at BMO Field could motivate Toronto if they are to go a goal down but could also motivate Montreal to not let anything like that happen again.
Team news for the sides sees Justin Morrow absent due to his US call up for the Gold Cup. Jozy Altidore and Michael Bradley won’t be joining the squad until later on and will feature against Montreal.
No fresh team news for Montreal after they rested some key players in their weekend defeat against the Columbus Crew.
Sebastian Giovinco is coming off an impressive performance against New England where he scored late on to seal a 2-0 win the Toronto and will definitely do his best to get his fans off their seats. Vazquez and Bradley will have a big role in the game too dictating the pace of it.
Ignacio Piatti has been the Impact’s best player for a couple years and now will be in the spotlight on the big stage again. The tricky left winger has a lot of pace and a ton of ability to make something happen out of nothing.
Toronto will be looking to win their sixth Canadian Championship while Montreal are looking to win their fourth.
