After knocking out Madrid, Ajax now face the Italian champions

Ajax will be full of confidence heading into their clash with Juventus on Wednesday after eliminating the reigning champions Real Madrid in the round of 16.

The Dutch outfit have won their last three games and are coming off a 4-1 road win against Willem II and have scored 12 goals in their last three outings.

David Neres comes into the game having scored six in his last seven games for Ajax while Dusan Tadic has scored six goals in the club’s last four home games.

Juventus are also in a good run of form having won their last three games, most recently they came from behind to beat AC Milan as Moise Kean scored his third goal in three games for the Italian club.

Kean has six goals in his last seven for club and country.

The sides last met in the 2010 Europa League when Juventus won 2-1 in Amsterdam before a goalless draw in Turin.

A very youthful Ajax squad heads into the tie with a total of 183 Champions League appearances in the whole team, while Cristiano Ronaldo himself boasts 160 in the competition.

Hassane Bandé is out injury while Noussair Mazraoui is suspended. Daley Blind, Matthijs De Ligt, Nicolas Tagliafico, Hakim Ziyech, and Donny van de Beek are all a booking away from missing the second leg in Turin.

Andrea Barzagli, Ronaldo, and Douglas Costa have been doubtful, but were named as part of the traveling squad. Ronaldo was injured while playing during the international break and hasn’t featured since then.

Paulo Dybala missed the last two games before returning against AC Milan and scoring from the penalty spot, he’s back in the squad for the trip to Amsterdam.

Blaise Matuidi, and Fernando Bernardeschi are a booking away from suspension.

Kickoff is at 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam. The game will be streamed in Canada on DAZN.
