The Union are looking to challenge for top spot in the East as they host FC Cincinnati who have struggled recently on Wednesday night.

Philadelphia (4-3-2) are currently third in the East with 14 points and a win would see them go joint first with D.C. United heading into the weekend.

Jim Curtin’s side have lost once in their last seven games and are coming off a 1-1 tie away to the Vancouver Whitecaps thanks to an 86th-minute Kacper Przybylko goal.

Cincinnati (2-5-2) started off promisingly but have now fallen to 11th with eight points in the Eastern Conference. They come into Wednesday winless in five games having lost their last three after a 1-0 defeat at Red Bull Arena against New York.

The sides met earlier this season when the Union were 2-0 victors at Nippert Stadium with goals coming from Marco Fabian and David Accam. This is the second and final meeting between the sides this season.

Team news

Philly are missing Andre Blake, Anthony Fontana, Ilsinho, Sergio Santos, and Fabian, who all missed out against the ‘Caps last weekend.

Alan Koch will be without goalkeeper Jimmy McLaughlin, Greg Garza, and forward Faenando Adi.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. EST. on Wednesday evening at Talen Energy Stadium. The game will be shown in Canada on DAZN and will be televised in the United States on Star64, FloFC in the Cincinnati region, and PHL17.
