Borussia Dortmund’s title charge is coming down to the wire as they travel to meet Werder Bremen with just three games to go.

The Black and Yellow are second with 69 points, just two points behind the league leaders and defending champions Bayern Munich.

They come into the game with two losses in seven games after a 4-2 loss at home to rivals FC Schalke last weekend. Their last away game ended in a 4-0 win at Freiburg.

Bremen are ninth right now with 46 points but only sit four points back of Hoffenheim who occupy the sixth and final European position.

Florian Kohfeldt’s side have lost three in a row, conceding seven in their last two after a 4-1 loss against Fortuna Dusseldorf. They boast a decent record at home though, only losing once in their last eight games at the Weserstadion.

The sides met recently in the DFB Pokal when they drew 3-3 at the Signal Iduna Park before the visitors won in a penalty shootout.

Dortmund have lost twice in eight trips to Bremen and won at home in the first meeting between the two, 2-1.

Team news

Milot Rashica, Fin Bartels, and Davy Klaassen are all sidelined heading into the weekend with injuries. Niklas Moisander is suspended because of yellow card accumulation.

Achraf Hakimi and Dan-Axel Zagadou are out for the season, Lukas Piszczek could return but is questionable. Marco Reus who has three goals in three games against Bremen, and Marius Wolf are both suspended after picking up red cards in the Revierderby last weekend.

Kickoff is at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the Weserstadion in Bremen. The game will be televised in Canada on Sportsnet World.
