Houston host Dallas in Texas derby looking for first win in 10 against rivals

The Houston Dynamo are looking to continue their strong start to the season as they host rivals FC Dallas on Saturday.

Houston (5-1-1) are fifth in the West with 16 points but could go as high as third with a win and if results go their way.

FC Dallas (5-2-2) are a point above their rivals with 17 and come into the weekend just a single point behind the Seattle Sounders.

The sides last met in Sept. 2018 when Dallas won 4-2 at Harold Mosquera scored two on the day.

The Dynamo come into Saturday winless in nine meetings and have tied five of the last six games with Dallas.

Team news

DaMarcus Beasley, Ronaldo Pena, and Marlon Hairston are out injured while Romell Quioto is doubtful. Maynor Figueroa is in line to face his former club.

Paxton Pomykal has been impressive so far but will miss out with an injury, Francis Atuahene and Cristian Colman remain out, and Michael Barrios is a booking away from suspension. Dominque Badji is set to return from injury.

Kickoff is at 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston. The game will be streamed in Canada on DAZN and will be televised in the U.S. on Univision.
