Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni confirmed on Thursday that he will depart the club after 15 years in London.

The Argentine joined the club in 2004 from Scottish side Dundee for less than a million pounds, and has made a total of 405 appearances for the Eagles, putting him fourth on the all time list.

Speroni has recorded 112 clean sheets, a club record, and the 39-year-old has been honoured as Crystal Palace Player of The Season four times, most recently in 2014.

“Julian has devoted the best 15 years of his playing career to our club, and will go down in the record books – but perhaps more importantly, will be remembered as a true club legend by all Palace fans and everyone at the club,” said chairman Steve Parish.

“You just don’t get many people like Julian in elite football any more – he is a model professional, ultra-committed, immensely loyal, and has set impeccable standards to his team-mates down the years. His contribution to this club cannot be overstated, and we will be eternally grateful for his service,” he added.

Speroni has spent the last seven seasons playing in the Premier League with the Eagles after their promotion through the play offs back in 2013.

His farewell will come on the final day of the season on Sunday at home against Bournemouth.
