Sporting KC are on the road to face Eastern Conference side D.C. United on Sunday evening where they will be hoping to put an end to their winless streak.

Kansas (2-3-4) were involved in the CONCACAF Champions League earlier this season and just like TFC did last season, they got the injury bug.

Peter Vermes is without seven first team players through injury, while Gianluca Busio is away for international duty.

Jimmy Medranda, Matt Besler, Jaylin Lindsey, Rodney Wallace, Erik Hurtado, Roger Espinoza, and Gerso Fernandes are the players missing, while Andreu Fontas is doubtful.

Benny Feilhaber just recently rejoined the club from Colorado and should feature.

They come into the game sitting 11th in the West with 10 points, but could go seventh with a win. After a 3-0 home loss to Atlanta last weekend, they are now winless in seven games with three ties and four losses.

D.C. (6-3-2) on the other hand, are second in the East with 20 points and will be hoping to go level on points with Philadelphia, who won 2-1 in Toronto on Saturday.

Ben Olsen’s side are coming off a 3-1 home win over the Columbus Crew and he’ll be without Oniel Fisher, Chris Odoi-Atsem, Joseph Mora, and Donovan Pines. Chris McCann is also questionable leading into the game.

It’s been a cagey affair between the sides down the road; in 14 meetings only once has a team won by more than one goal, and there have been four goals altogether in the last five matches.

Sporting KC head to Audi Field winless in their last five trips to the nation’s capital.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. EDT. on Sunday evening at Audi Field. The game will be televised in Canada on TSN 2 and in the U.S. on FS1 and FOX Deportes.
