Houston host Portland looking to extend unbeaten home run

The Houston Dynamo head into Wednesday unbeaten at home this season and welcome Portland Timbers to the BBVA Compass Stadium.

Houston (6-2-1) are on 19 points in West and have five wins and one tie at home this season.

Wilmer Cabrera’s side are coming off a 1-0 defeat away from home against the Seattle Sounders.

Portland (3-6-1) are 10th with 10 points and are finally coming to the end of their lengthy road trip.

They had a three-game winning run snapped at B.C. Place with a 1-0 loss and have just two more away games before returning to Providence Park.

Last time the sides met it finished in a 4-1 win for the Dynamo as Mauro Manotas bagged two goals.

The Timbers travel to Texas winless in eight trips with four ties and four losses.

Team news

DaMarcus Beasley, Marlon Hairston, and Ronaldo Peña are all sidelined for the hosts with injuries.

Giovanni Savarese is missing goalkeepers Kendall McIntosh and Aljaz Ivacic. Diego Chara is absent through suspension.

Kickoff is at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston. The game will be streamed in Canada on DAZN, and will be shown in the U.S. on KUBE 57 and ROOT Sports NW.
