Bayern Munich scored four second half goals to defeat Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 as they retained the Bundesliga title.

The Bavarians have won seven straight Bundesliga trophies and their record 29th after a dominant second half.

Bayern were given a scare early in the second half when Sebastien Haller levelled the game up, but Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery both came off the bench to get a goal each in their final Bundesliga game for Bayern.

David Alaba and Renato Sanches also scored in the second half. Kingsley Coman got the early goal in the fourth minute.

Borussia Dortmund knew they had to win, which they did; a 2-0 victory on the road against their rivals Borussia Monchengladbach with goals from Jadon Sancho and Marco Reus wasn’t enough as they needed Bayern to lose.

Christian Pulisic ended his Dortmund career after five years and will move to Chelsea this summer; the American capped off his final appearance with an assist on Reus’ goal which sealed the win.

The league was decided by just two points as Bayern won it with 78 points while the Black and Yellow ended on 76 points.

The loss for Frankfurt and the results that went against them means the Eagles finished seventh and will have to go through a Europa League qualifier as Hoffenheim dropped points in a 4-2 loss to Mainz.

RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen rounded up the top four while Gladbach and Wolfsburg, who won 8-1 against Augsburg.

Robert Lewandowski won his fourth Bundesliga Golden Boot as he finished with 22 league goals. Paco Alcacer ended on 18 while Reus got 17. Luka Jovic, who is joining Real Madrid this summer, ended the season with 17.

Jadon Sancho took home the assist award with 14 this season.

The Bavarians were pushed all the way to the final day this season by Borussia Dortmund, who put up a valiant fight. Unfortunately for the Black and Yellow, a couple slip ups at vital times saw them fail to take home their first title in eight years.
