Sporting Kansas City will be eager to find some form, but have to deal with many injury blows heading into Saturday’s game with the Vancouver Whitecaps.

SKC (2-4-4) are 10th in the West with 10 points and are winless in eight games with five losses and three ties after a 1-0 loss away to D.C. United last weekend.

Vancouver (3-6-3) sit eighth in the West with 12 points and had a two-game winning run snapped last weekend when they lost 1-0 at home to Atlanta United.

Last season it was Kansas who dominated the season series with a 4-1 win in Vancouver and a 6-0 win at home. The hosts have won five of the eight meetings at home against the ‘Caps.

Team news

Peter Vermes’ side are being hit with the same bug that Toronto FC dealt with last year with the CONCACAF Champions League; Jimmy Medranda, Erik Hurtado, Jaylin Lindsey, Rodney Wallace, Matt Besler, Gerso Fernandes, and Roger Espinoza are all missing. Adnreu Fontas is questionable and Gianluca Busio is away with international duty.

Vancouver will be without Yordy Reyna, Jasser Khmiri, and Michael Baldisimo. Jon Erice is questionable coming into the game.

Kickoff is at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night at Children’s Mercy Park. The game will be televised in Canada on TSN 1, and in the U.S. on FOX Sports North Plus and FOX Sports KC Plus.
