The Supporters’ Shield leaders welcome the Montreal Impact to California on Friday as they will be hoping to keep their unbeaten streak at home.

LAFC (9-1-4) are five points above Seattle with 31 points after 14 games and have six wins and a tie at home this season. They come into the game after a 1-1 tie with FC Dallas after Carlos Vela’s late penalty kept them unbeaten in six games.

Montreal (6-5-3) are third in the East with 21 points and are coming off a 0-0 tie with the New England Revolution. The Impact have won four of their first 10 games away from home this season, more than they won in the whole of last season.

The only meeting between the sides came in 2018 when LAFC won 5-3 at Stade Saputo; Ignacio Piatti bagged three on the day.

Team news

Alejandro Guido and Javier Perez are both questionable leading into the game whil Eduard Atuesta is a booking away from suspension.

Remi Garde’s side will be without Victor Cabrera and Clement Bayiha. Bacary Sagna is back from suspension, Samuel Piette is suspended with yellow card accumulation, and Piatti returned from injury against the Revs with a 24 minute cameo.

Kickoff is at 10:30 p.m. ET. on Friday night at the Banc of California. The game will be televised in Canada on TSN 4/5 and TVAS, and in the U.S. on KVMD and YouTubeTV in the L.A. region.
