RSL host Atlanta hoping to continue win streak

Real Salt Lake and Atlanta United are set to battle in Utah as the hosts will be hoping to pick up yet another win on Friday night.

RSL (5-6-1) are on 16 points in the West and could go fifth with a win. They’ve won their last two games after a 3-0 home win over struggling Toronto FC thanks to goals from Damir Kreilach, Jefferson Savarino, and Sebastian Saucedo.

Atlanta (6-4-2) sit on 20 points; four behind Philadelphia and D.C. United who are joint first in the East. The Five Stripes come into the game having had a five-game winning run snapped with a 1-0 loss away to the New York Red Bulls.

The sides have met twice with Atlanta winning both games. It was a 2-0 win at home and a 3-1 win at Rio Tinto. Hector Villalba has two goals in the two meetings.

Team news

Jordan Allen, Tony Beltran, and captain Kyle Beckerman are all sidelined for Mike Petke’s side.

Frank de Boer will be without Ezequiel Barco who’s away for international duty at the U20 World Cup, George Bello, Kevin Kratz, and Brandon Vazquez are out injured.

Kickoff is at 9 p.m. ET. on Friday night at Rio Tinto Stadium. The game will be on in Canada on DAZN and in the U.S. on Univision.
