After hitting a rough patch of results, Toronto FC welcome the San Jose Earthquakes to BMO Field on Sunday evening.

TFC (5-5-2) are seventh in the East but could fall out of a playoff spot depending on how Columbus do on Saturday. They have three wins from seven games at home and are winless in four games with three losses and a tie after a 3-0 defeat away to Real Salt Lake.

San Jose (4-6-2) sit eighth in the Western Conference with 14 points and have lost just once in their last six games after their 4-1 win over Chicago that saw Chris Wondolowski bag four goals to beat the goal scoring record in MLS. The ‘Quakes are winless on the road this season with all four victories coming at home.

The sides battled out to a 1-1 tie at Avaya Stadium last year when Victor Jansen gave TFC a lead before Wondo’s last goal earned them a point. Toronto FC have won the last three meetings at BMO Field between the sides; most recently a 4-0 win in 2017.

The only absentee for TFC is Alejandro Pozuelo who is suspended after picking up two yellow cards against RSL last weekend. Michael Bradley is questionable after missing Friday’s training with a sore hamstring. Jozy Altidore returned from injury in Utah as he came on in the second half.

The ‘Quakes have no new injuries, but Cristian Espinoza and Tommy Thompson are both a booking away from suspensions.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET. on Sunday evening at BMO Field in Toronto. The game will be televised in Canada on TSN 4, and will be shown in the U.S. on NBC Sports California.
