York 9 travel east to Nova Scotia as they prepare to take on HFX Wanderers as both sides will be looking to get a win on the board after they both fell to defeats last weekend.

Jim Brennan’s side are coming off a 2-0 loss in their league home opener against Hamilton’s Forge FC. The goals came late on for Forge after a lengthy rain delay halted proceedings at the York Lions Stadium.

Before the loss, York 9 had defeated Quebec side AS Blainville 1-0 at home in the Canadian Championship to advance to the second round. The win is their only victory in six games this season and they sit at the bottom of the league.

HFX traveled west to Calgary on the weekend to play against the top side in the league, Cavalry FC. The game ended with a 2-0 loss for the visitors which means they’ve lost three of their last four games.

They too played in Canadian Championship action last week when they were defeated 1-0 at home against Ontario’s Vaughan Azzurri, but advanced to the next round via the away goals rule.

This is the first meeting between the two sides this season and York 9 head to Halifax winless on the road this campaign.

Kickoff is at 6 p.m. EST. on Wednesday evening at Wanderers Ground in Halifax. The game will be shown in Canada on Onesoccer.ca.
