The only meeting between the sides in UEFA competition came in 1973 in the UEFA Cup semifinals; Liverpool won 1-0 at home before losing 2-1 away. They met twice in the league this season with the Reds winning both outings 2-1; Roberto Firmino scored twice in those two games.
Spurs don’t have a good track record against the Merseyside club having won just once in the last 14 games against them.
This is the second English club Spurs will meet in the competition after defeating Man City on away goals, while Liverpool last faced English opposition last season when they too eliminated City in the quarter-finals.
Naby Keita is the only absentee for Liverpool after being ruled out with an injury.
Harry Kane traveled with the squad and could feature for the first time in over seven weeks.
Kickoff is at 3 p.m. EST. on Saturday afternoon at the Wanda Metroplitano, the home of Atletico Madrid. The game will be shown in Canada live on DAZN.
