DORTMUND – Borussia Dortmund kicked off the Bundesliga weekend with a convincing 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt at the Signal Iduna Park.

The win was Dortmund’s ninth in a row at home against the Eagles.

The hosts started well and had a good chance in the eighth minute when Raphael Guerreiro’s free kick went through the wall and hit the post.

Dortmund took the lead in the 33rd minute when Achraf Hakimi cut the ball back to Lukasz Piszczek who’s left-footed effort founds its way into the bottom right corner.

The Black and Yellow have now scored in 36 consecutive home games in the Bundesliga.

It was a quick start to the second half when Jadon Sancho was all alone on the counter attack, cut in and found the bottom left corner to get his 13th goal of the season.

A third goal followed just minutes later when Sancho’s beautiful pass found Hakimi and the Moroccan played Erling Haaland who tapped home his eighth goal in five games for Dortmund.

Hakimi nearly had a goal of his own in the 68th minute but his effort sailed just over the bar.

Dortmund got their fourth and final goal of the game in the 73rd minute when Almamy Toure gave the ball away and Guerreiro picked up the ball and found the bottom right corner to get his fifth of the season.

Lucien Favre’s side moved up into second, just a point behind Bayern who travel to Cologne tomorrow while RB Leipzig will face Werder Bremen.

The Black and Yellow will now prepare for their Champions League clash on Tuesday against Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16 while Frankfurt will take on RB Salzburg in the Europa League on Thursday.
