Sporting KC hoping to close gap on Seattle when they face LA Galaxy

Sporting KC will be looking to inch closer to Seattle at the top of the West on Wednesday when they host the LA Galaxy.

Peter Vermes’ side are second with 55 points, three behind Seattle with a game in hand and have three wins in four after beating Seattle 2-1.

LA are currently fifth with 46 points and are unbeaten in four with two wins and two draws following a 2-2 stalemate with FC Dallas.

The last time they faced was in July when Sporting KC won 2-0 and before that, they met in 2019 when the Galaxy won 7-2 at home.

The hosts are missing Alan Pulido, Jaylin Lindsey and Felipe Hernandez, while Jorge Villafana is the lone injury for the Galaxy.

Kickoff is at 8:30 p.m. EDT. on Wednesday night at Children’s Mercy Park. The game will be shown in Canada on DAZN.
